Important Information about Sign Language Interpreters
While we at Star Interpreting have a special ability to provide an interpreter in almost any language on very short notice, doing so in the case of a Sign Language Interpreter is a very difficult challenge.
Sign Language interpreting is different from foreign language interpreting, because of the language and physical demands involved. The physical demands of sign language interpreting require the participation of two sign language interpreters for each assignment. The interpreters alternate working every 15-20 minutes.
In addition sign language interpreters are in great demand. The combination of this demand and the need for two interpreters for each assignment makes it prudent to plan in advance when you need a sign language interpreter. Two weeks notice is recommended to insure that your deposition will proceed as scheduled.
